Encore Theatre - The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)

January 8-10; 15-17, 2010.
Friday and Saturday: 8:00 p.m.
Sunday matinee: 2:00 p.m.
Location: Encore Theatre.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)
by Adam Long, Daniel Singer & Jess Winfield.

This fast-paced, gag-a-second, delight deconstructs all 37 of the Bard's plays - plus the sonnets - into a single two-hour whirlwind.  Titus Andronicus becomes a cooking show; Othello, a rap song.  All of the comedies are combined into one convoluted reading (the justification being that they all recycle the same plot devices anyway); the histories are acted out through an American football game with the British Crown as the football.  The entire second act is a retelling of Hamlet with audience participation as the subconscious of Ophelia.

Cost: Regular Adult: $13; Senior: $11; Student to age 18: $8.

The Allen County Historical Society, in conjunction with the Blues Committee of Lima, is pleased to host an evening program and concert with Thomasina Winslow.

She will be teaching the students how the blues evolved from rhythms and field hollers into today's music.  She will also be demonstrating the differences of delta and piedmont styles of guitar playing.

Thomasina Winslow has been involved with music since she was a young child.  Her recording debut was at the age of four with her father Tom Winslow on his album "Tom Winslow" (Biograph Records, 1969). Her performing life continued with her folk-singing family The Winslows.

As a solo artist, Thomasina has played in Europe, in countless New York schools, and in studios and stages up and down the east coast.
