The Blue Caboose is owned and managed by the Lima-Allen County Convention & Visitors Bureau and staffed by nearly 30 volunteers. These Tourism Specialists give their time, enthusiasm, and knowledge to welcoming visitors to Lima and Allen County by providing local, state, and regional information and printed materials for inquisitive travelers. The Caboose is open seasonally from the end of May to Labor Day.

Allen County's Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center has a new website. If you are planning a meeting, big or small, a convention, reception or special event you can get many details at this site. Library Fundraiser - 2009

Mondays -
June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
9:00 a.m.
Location: Lima Public Library.

Gift baskets designed and created by Sarah Ricks of Sarah Ricks' Treasure Company will be raffled off to the public.
Beautiful baskets will be on display in the front entry cases.
Raffle tickets will be $1 each or six for $5.
Sarah Ricks' Treasure Company received the 2008 Culturally Diverse Business of the Year Award by the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce.

Pork Rind Festival

Friday and Saturday, June 12 & 13, 2009.
Hours: Friday, 6-11 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.-11 p.m.
Location:  Downtown Harrod, Ohio.

See how many tasty ways you can prepare a pork rind.  Eat fresh popped pork rinds or enjoy a hog roast.  A family day with rides, entertainment, crafts and more.

Always second weekend in June.

Ohio National Championship Motorcycle Races

Saturday, June 27, 2009.
Gates open: 3:30 p.m.
Race begins: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Allen County Fairgrounds, 2750 Harding Hwy., Lima.

This is the area's Premier Motorcycle Racing event.  Over 10,000 race fans converge on Lima, Ohio to watch the Grand National Circuit top racers in the nation participate in the 1/2 mile dirt track oval at the fairgrounds.

Tickets are available at the gates or at local dealer establishments.
Reserve tickets: $30.00;  General Admission: $25.00.
