Lima Astronomical Society Observing ScheduleSeptember 3, 2010.
The Schoonover Observatory in Schoonover Park (670 N. Jefferson St., Lima) will be open at 8:00 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. This coincides with the regular monthly meetings of the Lima Astronomical Society.
The Observatory will also be open from time to time for special events related to sky phenomena taking place at the time. On regular meeting nights, there will be a short business meeting at 8:00 p.m. followed at 8:30 p.m. by some sort of presentation lasting approximately an hour. Observations will commence thereafter.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Society's regular meetings and any special events. You are encouraged to come to the observatory and look through the 14-inch Celestron telescope housed at that facility. Members of the LimaAstronomical Society will be on hand to operate the telescope and answer your questions.

Items to consider for donation are antiques, power tools and slightly used furniture. Items can be dropped off from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the station. Proceeds will go to the continuation of Christian TV in the area. All donations are tax deductible.

Rebel Run Rod & Custom NationalsSeptember 16 - 19, 2010. Location: Allen County Fairgrounds. This is the 31st annual Rebel Run Rod & Custom Nationals Car Show. Registration begins at 12:00 noon on Thursday with gates open to the public at 1:00 p.m. Registration begins on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 a.m. with gates open to the public at 9:00 a.m.
Activities for the entire family. Entertainment will be provided by some great musical acts. Special guests will be in attendance, and other activities will include 50/50 drawings, a swap meet, craft show, model car contest on Saturday and drive-in movies all weekend. Golden Years Race Days are Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 12:00 noon.
Admission for spectators is $7.00 per day, and children under the age of 12 are admitted free.

A.B.A.T.E. of Ohio Toy RunSunday, September 26, 2010. Doors open: 10:00 a.m. Bikes leave: 12:00 noon. Location: Allen County Fairgrounds, 2750 Harding Hwy., Lima. 25th Annual Toy Run. A.B.A.T.E. of Ohio, Inc., Region 3 is part of a nationwide motorcyclist's rights organization that provides political support of rider freedom while promoting rider education and safety. Region 3 includes Allen, Auglaize, Logan, Mercer, Paulding, Putnam, Shelby and Van Wert Counties in Ohio. Each year, Region 3 hosts a Christmas Toy Run to raise money and collect toys to benefit our area's needy children for the holidays. Success has been phenomenal, but is gained only through the cooperation of A.B.A.T.E. members and the community working together to provide for those less fortunate.
Music (to be announced) Free food while it lasts.
Cost: $15.00 per person or $10.00 and a new toy.
