Contemporary art has a home in the Victorian-era mercantile building renovated by ArtSpace/Lima on Town Square in the heart of downtown Lima. There's always something new in the changing gallery exhibitions featuring local and regional artists working in all media. In the Gallery Shoppe, original artwork including paintings, jewelry, ceramics, glass, and cards by the area's most respected artists is on display as well as other unique art replicas. Many art enrichment classes, workshops, and special events are offered throughout the year for art-lovers of all ages.

Classical Triumphs
Lima native Paul Barnes triumphantly returns to the stage to celebrate the bicentennial of Fran Liszt's birth with the stunning and emotional Piano Concerto No. 2. The opening gala begins joyously with guest conductor Clyde Rauch leading the orchestra in a bouyant polka, and concludes with Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5, as remarkable for its grandeur and beauty as for its historic boldness.

The Romance of Spring
Join the Symphony for an exhilarating breath of springtime romance, beginning with the exuberant vitality of Berlioz's Le Corsaire Overture. Piano soloist and winner of the 2009 Friends of the Symphony Young Artists Competition Scott Cuellar will delight with the 24 variations of Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on the Theme of Paganini, by turns playful, melancholy, militaristic and dramatic, and characterized by a soaring, soulful melody and structural ingenuity. The tour de force of Romantic composers concludes with Schumann's Spring Symphony, a buoyant, exultant composition written soon after his marriage for his "spring of love".

Beethoven Lives Upstairs by Classical Kids: A Family Concert
Imagine Ludwig van Beethoven moving in to the apartment upstairs! The world-famous production of Beethoven Lives Upstairs features a lively exchange of letters between a young boy and his uncle about the "madman" who as moved upstairs. Audiences will be captivated by more than thirty-five excerpts of the master's music, including the Moonlight Sonata, Fur Elise, and the great Fifth and Nineth Symphonies. The music is magically woven into the drama as two actors share their anecdotes and observations based on true incidents from the composer's life. Presenting history, drama, music and fun, this engaging, fast-paced concert will captivate and entertain children and adults alike.

Lift Every Voice
The Lima Symphony Chorus and the Bowling Green State University Choral Society will join the orchestra as they transport the audience to the 13th century for a tale of war, treason and the power of the common people united by a hero with Prokofiev's renowned cantata, Alexander Nevsky. They conclude the season with the chromatic patterns of Saint-Saens Organ Symphony, known for its virtuoso piano passages, brilliant orchestral writing and the sound of a cathedral-sized pipe organ, all sweeping to a dramatic finish.
