This garden has grown to include over 30 mini-themed gardens and child-inspired works of art, with historical elements which relate to Allen County's rich history. It is an interactive green oasis for "children" of all ages! This is a privately funded effort to establish a public garden space designed for children.

The Children's Garden offers hands-on educational opportunities to learn about gardening and horticulture and provides children, families and the CVB Sitecommunity with an attractive gathering place.

schoonover_obsThe Schoonover Observatory in Schoonover Park is open at 7pm on the first Saturday of every month. This coincides with the regular monthly meetings of the Lima Astronomical Society. The Observatory will also be open from time to time for special events related to sky phenomena taking place at that time. On regular meeting nights, there will be a short business meeting at 7pm, followed by a presentation at 7:30pm lasting approximately one hour. Observations will commence thereafter. Everyone is welcome to attend the Society's regular meetings and any special events. The public is encouraged to come to the observatory and look through the 14inch Celestron telescope housed at the facility. Members of the Lima Astronomical Society will be on hand to operate the telescope and answer questions. Programs can be arranged by appointment. Call for information.
The Observatory is also open on Friday evenings at dark through the summer months. Be sure to visit their facebook for more information!
